PARK CITY, Utah (April 9, 2019) — POC, which has built a reputation on safety, innovation and design, is proud to release its new 2019 cycling collections, and with it announce two new Design & Innovation 2019 awards.
The award-winning products from the 2019 cycling collection include the mountain bike specific Resistance WO collection, which includes women’s shorts and jerseys developed with a mix of materials that ensure good heat management, dirt and water resistance and lots of flexibility, and the VPD System Torso, a new back and chest protection system which has been created around extreme levels of protection, ventilation and comfort.

Headlining the 2019 collection is the Omne Air SPIN helmet. Developed for enhanced safety and versatility, POC created the helmet to inspire and protect all cyclists, be it on gravel, road or trails. The Omne Air SPIN features an EPS liner which is optimized to balance low weight and protection, and POC’s patent-pending silicone pad technology system SPIN to support POC’s whole helmet approach to design and protection. The aero-influenced ports and a semi-shell construction contribute balance speed, ventilation and a slimmer profile, while the 360-degree size adjustment system and precision fit straps ensure comfort and fit for all types of riding.
With the Cycling apparel 2019 collections, POC has set out to create apparel that has precise function and performance at its core. Each piece is designed to be used in combination across all of POC collections, road and mountain bike, so that cyclists can use their inspiration and have the flexibility to choose their apparel based on their own needs and demands.
Highlights for the Road collection include innovations in Raceday, with a number of aerodynamic materials and panels which reduce the impact and drag of a cyclist’s body through the air. The AVIP collection’s (Attention, Visibility, Interaction and Protection) ceramic shorts and jerseys, provide enhanced safety and the ride inspiration and fit from an updated essential road collection.
The 2019 Resistance and Essential MTB collections feature an array of protective, lightweight, stretchable, high-wicking and highly breathable materials. The precise fit and form is enhanced with improved safety in several parts of the collection, notably by introducing Cordura, Kevlar and reinforced zones.

The Resistance WO mountain bike collection is designed specifically for female riders. The jersey provides an ideal fit with a back protector and elbow pads. The lightweight Resistance WO Jersey features mesh material on the back and underarms to provide increased ventilation, while abrasion resistant Cordura sleeves provide increased crash protection and durability. Rear pockets with an internal gaiter and elastic lining provide ample space for enduro riders to securely carry tools and nutrition. The waterproof Resistance WO Shorts integrate and tear resistant Vectran fabric is included along the knees and seat for extra protection where it is needed most. A mountain bike specific fit, featuring a higher back and pre-bent knees are designed to work seamlessly with knee pads. A Velcro waist adjustment system, zipped main pockets and a separate card pocket ensure the ultimate versatility and fit.
The VPD System Torso is a new back and chest protection system which has been created around extreme levels of protection, ventilation and comfort. The unique design and materials used ensure that the Torso system is minimalistic and will not interfere with riding in any conditions especially as body heat molds the protection to the rider’s body shape. However, when required during a fall it will offer incredible levels of protection and harden on impact thanks to the 3D molded VPD materials, which are levels 1 certified. New VPD system lite knee and elbow protectors, which offer similar levels of protection and comfort complete an incredibly versatile protection package for modern mountain bike riders.
