Diamondback Updates Century and Airén Endurance Bikes to Deliver Perfect Blend of Comfort and Performance
KENT, Washington (June 28, 2016) — Diamondback Bicycles is pleased to introduce its completely overhauled line of men’s Century and women’s Airén endurance road bikes. Featuring new, progressive geometries in a variety of build kits, these bikes offer enhanced comfort for long rides, without sacrificing performance.
“The new Century and Airén line represents a significant leap forward for the Diamondback road bike program,” says Michael Brown, Diamondback’s vice president of product development. “These new frames feature the latest innovations in bike design, construction, and ride feel. They offer an all-day ride that stays supple and responsive; comfortable and quick.”
The Century and Airén carbon and alloy frames have been redesigned from the ground up, borrowing from Diamondback’s successful Podium and Serios race bikes. The new rear triangle features sculpted seat and chain stays, delivering a buttery smooth ride. An oversized bottom bracket and front and rear 12mm thru-axles improve stiffness, tracking, and power transfer.
The top shelf Century 5 Carbon is available with a Shimano Ultegra 2x11 group, HED Flanders C2+ wheels, Shimano Flat Mount hydraulic disc brakes and a full monocoque carbon frame and fork. The Century 5 Carbon with Ultegra will retail for $2,800. The Century 4 Carbon comes with Shimano 105 components and retails for $2,200. The Century line includes six different build options in all, starting with the alloy-framed Century Sport, available at just $800.
Designed specifically for women, the Airén 5 Carbon is available with a full Ultegra 2x11 group, HED Flanders C2+ Disc wheels, a carbon fork, and Shimano Flat Mount hydraulic disc brakes for $2,800. The Airén 4 Carbon is available with a Shimano 105 2x11 drive train and HED Flanders C2+ rims for $2,200. Like the Century, the Airén lineup starts with the Airén Sport at $800.
The Century and Airén endurance road bikes will be available for purchase at select retailers at the beginning of August.
