La Sportiva Debuts Five New Ski Boots for Fall 2017

La Sportiva Debuts Five New Ski Boots for Fall 2017

For Fall 2017, La Sportiva debuts five new ski boots, revamps one best-selling ski, and enhances its collection of ski mountaineering apparel. The Synchro and Shadow ski boots meet customer’s desire for a stiffer boot that still tours well, while the Raceborg and Sytron are ski mountaineering boots for racing and training.

“Our Fall 2017 collection of ski hard goods is our best yet,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “All of our new boot models address a specific need in the industry and have been engineered to appeal to skiers who want performance without sacrificing the tourability they expect from La Sportiva. In addition, our revamped Vapor Nano and ski mountaineering apparel collection will both find a place in the quiver of almost any backcountry skier.”

The Synchro for men and Shadow for women are the most diverse freeride ski mountaineering boots on the market. They combine power and precision for downhill skiing with the lightweight and large range of mobility expected from an alpine touring boot. The unique hinged double power tongue increases mobility and flex of the boot while providing forward stiffness. A booster strap and carbon reinforced vertebra delivers a 125 flex boot with 50 degrees of range of motion in walk mode. The new overwrap Ultralon foam liner provides warmth, comfort, and support. The Synchro and Shadow are the perfect alpine touring boot to drive today’s modern skis. They will weigh 1550 grams, have a 102.5mm last and retail for $759.

The La Sportiva Raceborg combines the stiffness and innovation of the Stratos Hi-Cube cuff with the comfort of a Grilamid shell for the ultimate ski mountaineering race boot. A new CavoBike lever makes transitioning from ski to walk mode exceptionally easy and at 790 grams, the boot will be exceptionally fast on the skin track. A 75 degree range of motion provides no restriction in walk mode and the carbon cuff is stiff for downhill ski performance. This race specific boot will retail for $1650.

The Sytron and Sytron W’s incorporate ski mountaineering technology into boots at a friendlier price point for rando racing, multiple backcountry laps, or setting FKTs. The Sytron uses a carbon reinforced polymer while the women’s model has a fiberglass reinforced polymer for a softer flex in a women’s specific boot. The CavoBike Pro lever enables fast transitions and the 75 degree range of motion in an 850-gram boot is an efficient, fast boot for skimo racing or training. It will retail for $749.

The award winning Vapor Nano ski is updated for Fall 2017 with modifications to the geometry to improve performance in variable conditions. The tip shape is improved to keep the ski floating above the surface and the tip rocker has been reduced to lengthen the turning radius of the ski. Available in 168, 178, and 190 lengths, the ski will remain a staple of any backcountry skier’s quiver. It will retail for $1,299.

La Sportiva’s apparel sales continue to steadily grow each season and for Fall 2017, La Sportiva debuts new styles in its most successful categories. On the men’s side the Hyperspace jacket is a body hoody built with soft shell fabrics and Primaloft Silver insulation that every skier should have in their kit for $219 retail. The Conquest Down jacket uses European white goose down for exceptional warmth in a fairly slim package that retails for $269. Gore-Tex Active Shell provides a great barrier against the elements in the Quasar GTX jacket that will retail for $389.

For women, the Roseg Primaloft jacket can be worn on its own or as a layer and is a low profile, lightweight piece that will retail for $169. The Frontier Down is a warm, European goose down filled puffy built for warmth and style and will retail for $269. Lastly, the Nova GTX jacket for women is a Gore-Tex active shell jacket that layers well over insulation layers to provide protection from whatever the weather can dish out.

The full line of Fall 2017 La Sportiva products, including footwear, apparel, and ski hard goods will be on display Jan. 10-12, 2017, throughout the 2017 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, at the La Sportiva booth #5027.
