La Sportiva Introduces Capsule Collection of Alpine Climbing Apparel for Spring 2017
July 8, 2016 (BOULDER, Colo.) – Based on the success of its summer apparel program to date, La Sportiva debuts its TX Collection, a capsule collection of alpine climbing apparel for Spring 2017. Designed specifically for technical mountain travel, the collection includes styles for every layer of a complete mountain kit.
“La Sportiva is built on the promise of technical performance for tough objectives in the mountains,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “With the consistent growth and success of our apparel lines over the last few years, we’re now introducing a small, focused collection of apparel specific to technical alpine climbing. All serious mountain athletes who demand peak performance will be able to build complete kits from this collection and will be confident that no details were overlooked.”
The TX Capsule collection includes base layers, wind jackets, shorts and pants. Highlights include the TX Top T-shirt with reinforced soft-shell shoulder panels that reduce abrasion and provide comfort under pack straps. The TX Light jacket is a soft-shell jacket with Cordura reinforcements in high abrasion areas and a climbing helmet-compatible hood in a quick drying package. The TX Top T-shirt will retail for $45, the TX Light Jacket for $139.
On the bottom half, The TX Short has an elastic inner waist treatment that rises above the traditional waist band to work well with a climbing harness. On the TX Max Pant, Cordura knee and lower leg reinforcements ensure that athletes will not rip the pants with crampons and the lower leg openings integrate with mountaineering boots. MSRP for the TX Short will be $79 and the TX Max Pant for $139.
