For Fall 2017, La Sportiva debuts three new winter running shoes and a collection of apparel all designed to keep runners moving, even when the temperatures plunge. Built for performance in cold temperatures or sloppy conditions, the new collection provides technical footwear and apparel for serious runners whose mileage doesn’t drop just because the mercury does.

“Our Fall 2017 Mountain Running collection focuses on specific models for winter running,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “Many runners train and race through the winter, despite the conditions, so our new models cater to those who need performance and protection in the colder months of the year.”

The Akyra GTX is a Gore-Tex version of the popular Akyra that will debut in early 2017. An aggressive, stable-structured style that is built with a 9mm drop, and a comfortable medium/wide fit, the Akyra uses La Sportiva’s Trail Rocker sole system to promote natural natural path of balance through the stride. Gore-Tex Extended Comfort with aggressive lugs and Frixion Rubber and the Trail Bite heel system provide all-terrain traction and maximum grip. The Akyra GTX will retail for $160.

The Tempesta GTX is a technical lightweight waterproof shoe with great traction and superior underfoot feel. A winter racing shoe that comes in at 11 ounces and utilizes a single pull closure system, the Tempesta GTX also has durable airmesh uppers that will ward off the elements outside. A 10mm drop, Gore-Flex strobel board, and La Sportiva’s Impact Brake System combine to create a fast winter shoe that will retail for $165.

The Uragano GTX integrates a stretch gaiter into a lightweight trail running shoe to eliminate water and debris from entering the shoe. A 10mm drop and the integrated gaiter create a shoe that lands a bit higher on the runner’s leg for protection and can even crossover into snowshoeing. The Uragano weighs 13 ounces and is a great training or winter racing shoe that will retail for $180

On the apparel side, next-to skin and insulation layers can be combined with protective shells for an ideal layering system for active pursuits in the winter. The Ionosphere L/S is a base layer for cold climates and high aerobic activities that uses Pontetorto fleece for exceptional breathability and quick drying form the EKS Marino Wool. It will retail for $109. The Roseg Primaloft Jacket for women is a jacket that can be worn on its own or as a layer. It is low profile, lightweight, windproof, and nicely insulated with a Primaloft Silver insulation for a retail price of $169.

The full line of Fall 2017 La Sportiva products, including footwear, apparel, and ski hard goods will be on display Jan. 10-12, 2017, throughout the 2017 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, at the La Sportiva booth #5027.
