Klean Kanteen Partners with Leave No Trace to Teach Environmental Stewardship

(CHICO, Calif.) Jan 2, 2017 – Klean Kanteen, the pioneering stainless steel food and drinkware brand, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the 2017 annual Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainer program. In 2017, Klean Kanteen’s donation will increase the nationwide reach and frequency of the program.

“The Traveling Trainer program is one of the best examples of ongoing grassroots environmentalism,” says Jeff Cresswell, Klean Kanteen co-owner and director of the brand’s environmental and fair labor department. “We’re proud to support a program that reaches so many Americans on a very personal level, with a message that’s easy to understand and share.”

The Subaru/Leave No Trace trainer program consists of four teams of two educators that travel across the country in Subaru vehicles, teaching people how to protect and enjoy the outdoors responsibly. The program teaches Leave No Trace principles to the general public, volunteers, youth, nonprofit organizations, friend groups, governmental agencies and more. The Traveling Trainers live out of their Subaru vehicles, camping over 250 nights a year. In 2016, Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers reached over 15 million Americans.

Leave No Trace and Klean Kanteen share a longtime goal and commitment to environmental conservation through education and programs that allow people to experience and fall in love with the outdoors.

“Core to Klean’s mission around protecting the places where we live and play and preserving wild places for generations to come, the 2017 Leave No Trace program is truly an extension of our mission in motion,” said Melissa McClary, field marketing manager for Klean Kanteen.

“Brands like Klean Kanteen are what make the Traveling Trainer program so successful year after year,” says Dean Ronzoni, development manager at Leave No Trace. “Not only do they make products that help minimize single-use waste, but they support educational programs like ours that promote stewardship and sustainability.”
