KENT, Wash. (April 2, 2019) — Diamondback’s new Mission Carbon with Level Link suspension has been fully redesigned for riders who seek out steep, nasty terrain and all-day sessions at the bike park. Longer, lower, slacker and more aggressive than previous iterations, the Mission Carbon is built on a full carbon monocoque frame with a short-link four-bar suspension system, offering 160mm of rear wheel travel and a 180mm travel fork.
Diamondback first introduced the widely loved Mission with the Knucklebox suspension system in 2006 and redesigned the Knucklebox in 2014. The model was completely overhauled for 2019 to integrate the popular Level Link suspension system, which has received widespread recognition in the Catch, Release and Release Carbon platforms.
Level Link offers a nimble yet stable trail feel that encourages riders to push their limits on jumps and technical terrain. On climbs, the rear wheel stays planted, delivering reliable traction on long fire roads and punchy technical sections. Level Link achieves this with a lower link that stays parallel to the chain, and an upper link optimally positioned to react to the trail, especially while pedaling.
Available in two competitive build options, the Mission Carbon features a full-carbon frame with internal cable routing, a metric rear shock, Boost rear hub spacing, 27.5” wheels and 2.6” tire clearance.
Mission 1C - $3,999.99
The Mission 1C comes equipped with a RockShox Super Deluxe R rear shock and 180mm travel RockShox Yari RC fork. SRAM Guide R brakes deliver confidence on every line, and a SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain offers a wide gear range and smooth shifting. Maxxis DHF 2.5” and DHR 2.4” tires roll on Diamondback Blanchard rims, and a KS E20i dropper is included.
Mission 2C - $4,999.99
The Mission 2C features a Fox Float X2 Performance Elite shock and 180mm travel Fox 36 Performance fork to dominate the trail. SRAM Code R brakes deliver superior braking power under demanding conditions. The SRAM X01 Eagle drivetrain offers up crisp, precise shifts. Race Face ARC rims with Vault hubs come mounted up with Maxxis DHF 2.5” and DHR 2.4” tires for excellent traction. A KS E20i dropper rounds out the package.
The Diamondback Mission Carbon will be available at select retailers and Diamondback.com in summer 2019.
