Diamondback Introduces the Clutch, High Performance Women's Trail Bike

KENT, Washington (December 14, 2016) — Diamondback Bicycles, one of North America’s most well-known and respected cycling brands, is pleased to introduce the women’s Clutch, a full-featured trail bike built on Diamondback's celebrated Level Link suspension platform. Launched last year in Diamondback's Catch and Release bikes, Level Link is a new patent-pending, short-link, four-bar suspension system built to pedal efficiently and descend aggressively.

“The Clutch is designed for the female rider that wants one bike to ride everything,” says Michael Brown, Diamondback’s VP of product development. “A lot of women have been riding Level Link in our Catch and Release bikes, and we're excited to now offer a dedicated women's build at an incredible value.”

The Clutch, available in two build options, is the most progressive female mountain bike from Diamondback to date. A long top tube, short rear end and slack head tube angle gives this bike a stable platform to bomb down hills at speed, while the Level Link suspension system transfers pedaling forces efficiently to minimize pedal bob. Level Link is fully responsive on the trail, offering excellent bump compliance, predictably soaking up both small and large hits. On climbs, the rear wheel stays planted, delivering grip on long fire roads and punchy technical sections.

The Clutch 1 and 2 are available now at select retailers and online at Diamondback.com. Diamondback’s Ready Ride Program ensures that bikes delivered directly to consumers are pre-built so they are ready to go in a few easy assembly steps.

Clutch 2

The Clutch 2 features a plush suspension system including a Rockshox Monarch RT3 with Debonair Damper, delivering 130mm of travel and 150mm Rockshox Pike RC fork. The build includes a SRAM 1x11 drivetrain and SRAM Level T hydraulic brakes, a KS LEV dropper post and Diamondback's proven Blanchard wheels with 28mm wide, tubeless compatible rims. MSRP $4,000.

Clutch 1

The Clutch 1 features a Rockshox Monarch R Debonair Damper delivering 130mm of bump stomping travel and a 150mm Rockshox Yari RC fork. With a 1x11 SRAM NX drivetrain, SRAM Level hydraulic disc brakes, and Blanchard wheels, this bike offers a great ride for just $2,800 MSRP.
