Haibike Moving U.S. Headquarters to Colorado
Denver (January 23, 2017) – Haibike, the pioneering German e-bike brand, is moving its U.S. headquarters from Simi Valley, California to Denver, Colorado and bringing on a new operations manager. The brand’s new office is located in southeast Denver and will house sales, service, marketing and logistics.
“Having our entire U.S. team working together under one roof will be instrumental to our future success,” says Ken Miner, Haibike’s U.S. director of sales. “Colorado is a forward-thinking, technology-driven state that places a high value on outdoor recreation. It’s the perfect place to establish Haibike as a leader in the emerging e-bike market.”
The acceptance of e-bikes in the U.S. market is increasing and Haibike sees a strong potential for future growth. During its 2016 fiscal year, Haibike more than doubled its U.S. sales.
“We are very excited Haibike chose Colorado for its new U.S. headquarters," said Governor John Hickenlooper. "Haibike is joining a prestigious list of innovative outdoor recreation companies that call Colorado home. Our outdoor recreation economy is booming, and businesses like Haibike are embracing our collaborative business climate, robust workforce, and global reach to find great success.”
Colorado invested heavily in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure over the past several decades creating over 5,000 miles of trails. In 2015, Gov. Hickenlooper announced the Colorado Pedals Project, a four-year initiative to expand and elevate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and programs with the goal of becoming the "healthiest state in the nation."
“Haibike represents cutting edge technology in the e-bike space and they have deeply innovative historical roots for the global biking industry,” says Luis Benitez, director of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office. “As e-bikes grow in both the commuter bike space as well as the mountain biking arena, we wanted to be sure the thought leadership for this segment of the industry resided in Colorado. Haibike is the perfect partner to help Colorado and the United States grow into this rapidly emerging segment of the outdoor industry.”
Haibike promoted Jed Paraso to head of operations for the new Denver facility. Paraso, who has worked in the e-bike market for over six years, will relocate from Simi Valley.
