Haibike Introduces Connected Commuter E-Bikes and Youth ePerformance Bikes for 2017
Simi Valley, Calif. (September 8, 2016) – Haibike USA, exclusive distributor for the pioneering German e-bike brand, is pleased to introduce its 2017 bike lineup. Launching at Interbike this month, highlights of the line include a high-tech commuter e-bike featuring smart phone integration, the first ever ePerformance bike designed specifically for children and a new 150mm, plus-sized, all mountain eMTB.
“In addition to updating our entire line of XDURO and SDURO ePerformance mountain bikes, we’re really excited about some of our completely new platforms like the UrbanPlus and the HardFour for kids,” says Ken Miner, Haibike’s U.S. Director of Sales. “This is the most complete offering of bikes we’ve ever had, with a frame to fit every kind of rider on any terrain at any age.”
The new Haibike UrbanPlus is designed to be the ultimate commuter bike with a compact mid-drive motor that provides a pedal assist up to 28 m.p.h. 27.5” wheels with wide 2.4” tires help ensure a smooth, yet agile ride, perfect for navigating busy bike lanes. Using an intuitive smartphone mount and interface, COBI controls dynamic front and rear lights, a bike computer, navigation, music control, an anti-theft alarm, a bell tone and more.
The new SDURO HardFour 4.0 is the first ever youth ePerformance bike. With 24” wheels, it features all the technology and innovation of Haibike’s award-winning SDURO HardSeven, built to a smaller scale for younger riders. To ensure a safe yet thrilling ride, the Yamaha motor is governed to a top speed of 12 m.p.h.
The new XDURO AllMtn 8.0 is the most advanced and versatile all-mountain e-bike Haibike has ever created. The geometry is optimized to make the bike a stable climber while short (465 mm) chainstays and 150mm of front and rear travel keep the bike nimble and responsive on steep, technical downhills. The XDURO AllMtn 8.0 comes equipped with the reliable and powerful Bosch Performance CX mid-mounted motor and a 500 Wh Bosch performance battery. The 8.0 features 27.5” wheels with Schwalbe Nobby Nic plus-sized tires, Magura MT7 disk brakes and the new Magura Boltron inverted fork, designed specifically for e-bikes.
