Stio Debuts New Winter ‘16 Collection

JACKSON, Wyo. (October 18, 2016) –In mountain towns across the country first snows are covering the tallest peaks, temperatures are dropping, and talk of winter is on the tips of tongues. As preparation for the coming season gains momentum, Stio launches its new 2016 Winter Collection. Designed and tested at the base of the Tetons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Stio’s new line is built to meet the versatile demands of living and adventuring in cold-weather, high-elevation environments.

“We take pride in building progressive, technical apparel that meets the demands of the mountain life we live,” said Noah Waterhouse, Stio’s Vice President of Marketing and Sales. “With epic days that start in the mountains and end at the office or at home, we look for performance, versatility and distinctive style in everything we make.”

tio expands its fleece lineup this season and introduces the Stettner Microfleece Zip for men, crafted with Polartec® Micro, 100% Recycled Repreve® Microfleece. Stio’s bestselling sweater fleece collections grow with the launch of the new Men’s Wilcox Fleece V-Neck, a multi-seasonal pullover adaptation of the popular Wilcox Fleece Jacket, and the Women’s Sweetwater Coat, a thigh-length fleece jacket with cozy brushed interior.

Inspired by the live-to-ski, carefree days of the 70s and 80s, Stio reveals new custom-designed, retro prints that celebrate this old-school, ski-bum vibe. The Skier and Floral prints are used with two new men’s styles fondly called the Harkin, named for the lead character in the 1984 cult-classic film, Hot Dog. The Harkin Snap Shirt’s 100% polyester fabric wicks and breathes for versatility on or off the hill and features custom pinecone embossed plastic snaps at the placket, cuffs and pockets. Its insulated counterpart, the Harkin Insulated Jacket, features sustainably sourced Thermore® Ecodown® insulation and a Pertex® Microlight outer with DWR finish. This reversible jacket features a retro-inspired print on one side and solid color on the other for versatility around town or as an insulated ski layer.

Expanding on its ski collection, Stio introduces the Durrance Jacket for men and women, an essential insulator for everyday mountain life, made with a color-blocked, waterproof/breathable two-layer shell and ALLIED Feather HyperDRYTM water-repellent goose down. Joining its popular Environ collection, Stio introduces the Environ Bib for men—the ultimate all-mountain ski pant that performs at the resort and in the side and backcountry. Made with Dermizax®, a 50d 3-layer stretch waterproof/breathable fabric, the Environ Bib is features a high waistband and suspenders, full outseam zippers for superior ventilation and drop seat functionality.
