Vibram®, the worldwide leader in high performance soles and producer of Vibram FiveFingers® and other premium rubber products, announces L.L. Bean and UGG as notable Fall 2017 adopters of Vibram Arctic Grip, its state-of-the-art sole technology intent on changing winter footwear. Arctic Grip is the most advanced cold-weather gripping system Vibram has ever created.
“Our intention with Vibram Arctic Grip is to push the bounds of sole technology on icy surfaces,” states Michael Gionfriddo, president and CEO of Vibram USA. “After a successful launch last year, interest in Vibram Arctic Grip has dramatically risen in only one season. For Fall 2017, Vibram Arctic Grip will continue to be well represented by Wolverine Worldwide brands and be complemented by some of the most advanced footwear technologies and brands in the world.”
Six Wolverine Worldwide brands served as exclusive Vibram Arctic Grip launch partners in 2016. For 2017, Wolverine brands will introduce several new styles from its Arctic Grip collection, highlighted by five new styles from Merrell including its specially designed Thermo Adventure winter boot as an REI Co-Op exclusive, spanning a range of shoes from lifestyle to technical, including:
· CAT Viaduct
· CAT Drover
· Merrell coldpack Ice+ moc
· Merrell coldpack Ice+ moc 8” zip
· Merrell coldpack Ice+ mid
· Merrell Capra Glacial Ice+
· Merrell Thermo Adventure winter boot
· Saucony Peregrine 7 Ice+
· Sperry Powder Ice Cap
All Vibram Arctic Grip models feature designated lugs with sole technology that grips slick, wet ice, as well as thermochromatic lugs, which sense when the temperature drops to 32 F, adding a splash of color in cold conditions. One of Arctic Grip’s greatest attributes is its durability and ability to maintain performance despite miles of wear.
For its second season, seven new partners will incorporate Vibram Arctic Grip in over twenty different styles including three from L.L. Bean and over ten styles from UGG. In addition, other brands to use Vibram Arctic Grip this fall will include: Dakota, Denver Hayes, Muck Boots (The Original Muck Boot Company), Royer and Windriver.
Vibram Arctic Grip sole technology is available to test during Vibram’s Sole Factor at participating REI tour stops. Please visit http://us.vibram.com/sole-factor-tour-2017.html for the latest information on tour dates and product offerings.
