Upslope’s Award-winning Belgian Style Pale Ale and Tap Room Series Peanutbutter Porter Hit Winter Shelves this Week

Upslope’s Award-winning Belgian Style Pale Ale and Tap Room Series Peanutbutter Porter Hit Winter Shelves this Week

Boulder, Colo. (Feb 8, 2017) — Upslope Brewing Company, the Boulder-based brewer, announces the seasonal release of its Limited Belgian Style Pale Ale and the 2017 opener for its Tap Room Series, a Peanut Butter Porter. The two beers will be available for a limited time only starting this month.

This year, the Belgian Style Pale Ale comes on the scene one month earlier than previous years. The brew will be especially limited this winter, with a shortened window of availability, as Upslope makes way for an additional limited release brew later this year. Previously dubbed, “Time of the Season,” the Belgian Style Pale Ale earned Upslope’s first-ever Great American Beer Festival medal during the 2009 Pro-Am Competition and now serves as a fan favorite and staple of Upslope’s Limited Release Roster.

“Although this beer is only available for a very small part of the year, it’s always a highly anticipated, fan favorite,” says Upslope Head Brewer, Sam Scruby. “It stands out by offering a much lighter profile than our early winter beers, like the Christmas Ale or the Oatmeal Stout, while maintaining a higher ABV to carry it through to the spring thaw.”

The Belgian Style Pale Ale is light bodied for a Belgian-Style Ale, offering full flavor with a strong, 7.5%, ABV backbone, serving as the perfect après-everything beer to lead into spring. The Trappist Ale yeast provides fruity esters that balance with coriander on the finish. The Limited Release Belgian Style Pale Ale will be available in 12 oz 6-packs through the remainder of winter.

Also hitting shelves this month is Upslope’s first 2017 installment of its Tap Room Series—a Peanut Butter Porter. This brew boasts roasty aromas with a nutty, rich flavor and a lingering salty sweetness on the finish. At a sessionable and smooth 5.3% ABV, folks will enjoy this Peanut Butter Porter paired with buttered toast spread with Concord grape jelly.
