Colorado-based Upslope Brewing Co Wins Again at the Great American Beer Festival
The craft brewer’s Brown Ale wins its third GABF medal
Boulder, Colo. (October 18, 2016) - At the Denver-based 2016 Great American Beer Festival (GABF), Upslope Brewingand its decorated Brown Ale earned a silver medal in the American-Style Brown Ale category. This marks theBrown Ale’s third GABF award in the last five years and makes the beer the most awarded beer in Upslope’s portfolio. In addition to the GABF win this year, Upslope’s Brown Ale won a silver medal at the 2016 World Beer Cup.
Founded in 1982, the Great American Beer Festival is recognized as the largest beer gathering in the country, featuring hundreds of breweries and playing host to beer connoisseurs from across the globe. Each year, the festival awards specific beers and breweries in each of its 96 competing categories. In 2012, Upslope’s Brown Ale was awarded a silver medal, and in 2014 secured the bronze medal—both in the American-Style Brown Ale category.

The medium-bodied Upslope Brown Ale is brewed in the English tradition, with an infusion of American creativity. The rich, malty backbone balances an assertive hop character, and ends with a dry finish, and the Brown Ale boasts a dark brown body that supports a creamy tan head.
