Thermacell Named to Popular Science’s “Best of What’s New 2018”

Thermacell Secures Grand Award in the Recreation Category

BEDFORD, Mass. (Nov. 27, 2018) - Thermacell Repellents Inc., the leading manufacturer of area mosquito repellents and other insect control products, has earned Popular Science's Grand Award in the Recreation Category among the magazine’s “Best of What’s New 2018” for its new Radius® Zone Mosquito Repellent.

“We are thrilled to win this prestigious award, and we want to thank Popular Science for their efforts to recognize disruptive innovation," said Michael Younger, Thermacell’s chief marketing officer. "The love of the outdoors permeates our culture at Thermacell, and this passion fuels our search for better solutions to mosquitoes and other biting insects that put a damper on outdoor fun.

"Radius is a direct result of this passion. Thanks to our amazing product innovation team, it delivers a level of performance that’s completely unmatched by traditional area repellents.”

Radius is the world’s first rechargeable, EPA-approved zone mosquito repellent. At the push of a button, Radius provides a silent, invisible, scent free zone of protection from mosquitoes. Radius is about the size of a Bluetooth speaker, making it perfect for any activity – from camping and backpacking to, relaxing on a patio.  And since it’s TSA compliant, you can take it with you to any mosquito-ridden destination.

Popular Science's "Best of What's New" awards are given out each year. Popular Science reviews thousands of new products and innovations and chooses the top 100 winners across 10 categories. To win, a product or technology must represent a significant step forward in its category.

“The Best of What’s New Awards allow us the chance to examine and honor the best innovations of the year,” said Popular Science Editor-in-Chief Joe Brown. “This collection shapes our future, helps us to be more efficient, keeps us healthy and safe, and lets us have some fun along the way. From simple household items to massive space-exploration tools, we’re proud to bring you the Best of What’s New 2018.”

Thermacell will be releasing more new, innovative products in 2019.
