Suerte Tequila Receives Best of Class Platinum at 2018 SIP Awards

BOULDER, Colo. (June 25, 2018) — Suerte, the small-batch, single-distillery tequila maker, received Best of Class Platinum for its Añejo at the Spirits International Prestige (SIP) Awards making it the top Añejo of all tequila brands entered. The brand also received the platinum award for its Reposado and silver for its Blanco.

“Receiving the Best of Class award is a great honor for all of us at Suerte,” said Laurence Spiewak, Suerte co-founder and CEO. “We have high standards and craft our tequila with traditional methods that take longer than modern processes. This award makes it clear our efforts are appreciated.”

Suerte Tequila is crafted from 100% Tahona-crushed blue weber agave that is slow roasted in brick ovens and double-distilled. The small batch tequila is made in Atotonilco El Alto in the highlands of Jalisco using the pure spring waters sought after by the greatest tequila makers in the world. The Reposado, Añejo and Extra Añenjo are aged in charred American White Oak whiskey barrels for seven months, two years and seven years, respectively.

The 2018 Spirits International Prestige (SIP) Awards hosted its largest blind tasting competition to date with 783 spirit brands and 122 consumer judges. Taking place in Newport Beach, California, the competition gave domestic and international spirit brands the rare opportunity to be distinguished solely on the merits of taste, aroma, and finish by unbiased consumers.
