La Sportiva Introduces Two New Models to Mountain Running® Category
La Sportiva commands respect in the Mountain Running® footwear category and will maintain its positioning with two new models for Spring 2019. Built for runners who tackle technical trails, ambitious races, and aggressive objectives the Kaptiva and Bushido II build on the brand’s knowledge and brings innovation to a category propelling growth for the brand.
“Running trails requires well-built footwear that hits a specific list of objectives and our Mountain Running® models do just that,” says Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “The Bushido has been our best-selling model over the last few years and it will be even better for 2019. In addition, the Kaptiva provides mountain runners with a new model for going fast in technical terrain on race day.”
For Bushido II, 3mm of cushion has been added for a softer overall feel to an already top performer. With race-day fit and two compounds of rubber on the outsole, the Bushido II will also have more padded tongue and restructured heel cup to reduce pressure on the foot, creating a more comfortable shoe in the same race-ready package the Bushido is known for. The 10.5 ounce, 6mm drop shoe will retail for $130.
The La Sportiva Kaptiva is a new lightweight training and racing shoe that uses a full-length rock guard for protection underfoot and a new last that provides a performance fit. The Rock Guard will provide ample protection from sharp rocks and pesky scree to provide a cushioned ride will still providing sensitivity underfoot. Additionally, traction is excellent thanks to the FriXion XF outsole. The 6mm drop shoe will weigh just 9 ounces and retails for $139.
The full line of Spring 2019 La Sportiva products, including footwear and apparel will be on display July 23-26, 2018, throughout the 2018 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Denver, at the La Sportiva booth #36039-UL.
