Hobie Introduces Mirage Eclipse Dura Series Pedalboards for Commercial-Grade Durability on the Water
OCEANSIDE, Calif. (Aug. 29, 2017) – Hobie, a leading manufacturer of premium watersports products, today launched the Mirage Eclipse Dura Series at Paddlesports Retailer in Madison, Wisconsin. The new design mimics Hobie’s popular Eclipse Pedalboard in functionality and is equipped to handle rugged commercial use in rental fleets and resort settings.
“Our engineers designed the new model to withstand the rigorous demands of our commercial customers, and this product allows us to bring our incredibly popular Pedalboard to a market where we thrive,” said Doug Skidmore, President of Hobie. “We’re constantly listening to our customers and partners, and in true Hobie fashion, we’re working to build the best possible products for their needs.”
The Dura-Eclipse is powered by Hobie’s patented MirageDrive technology and is designed for heavy-duty all-day use. Features include a full-coverage EVA foam decking for enhanced user traction and added impact protection from EVA foam nose and stern bumpers. Abrasion resistant tape wraps the board’s outermost perimeter, and a soft polyethylene bottom ensures the board stays scratch-free after heavy use. Both the Dura Eclipse 10.5’ and 12’ models are equipped with two carry handles fore and aft, and inserts for side carry handles if desired, for easy transport and a one-size-fits-all fixed position handlebar.
The Dura Eclipse 10.5’ and 12’ pedal powered boats will be available in Sunset Red and Twilight blue for $2399 and $2499 respectively. The new models will be available in early fall.
